Sherwood, 12th year

Despite losing last yearís best battery in county to graduation, led Warriors to 18-3 record and first-ever state final.

Player of the Year

Taylor Wyatt

Damascus, Jr., SS

Led Hornets, on and off field, to third state semifinal in four years. Batted team-high .557 and had .942 fielding percentage.

Erin Bloodgood, Clarksburg, Jr., C

Helped lead Coyotes to winning record in second season, with .516 batting average and 22 RBI.

Kelly Gafner, Clarksburg, Sr., 1B

Errorless in field and helped team to first postseason win, batting team-high .576 with 30 RBI.

Allison Gost, Poolesville, Sr., C

Committed only one error, throwing out 11 would-be base stealers, and hit .390 with team-high five doubles.

Amy Grubic, Wheaton, Sr., P

Tallied county-high 227 strikeouts en route to 1.90 ERA. Batted team-best .470 with 9 home runs.

Kathy Holonich, Sherwood, Sr., 1B

Batted .333 with 27 RBI, 19 runs, adding solid defense in first season at first base.

Kristen Hutchinson, R. Montgomery, Soph., P

Compiled 13-5 record with 171 strikeouts, batting .400 with 3 home runs.

Becca Kirshner, Gaithersburg, Sr., SS

Combined tremendous range with team-high .571 batting average, 21 RBI.

Karah Kuczarski, Good Counsel, Jr., C

Threw out 18 of 20 runners at second base, batting team-high .425.

Tallied 120 strikeouts en route to 18-3 record in leading Warriors to first-ever state final appearance.

Four-year starter boasted .463 batting average, .955 fielding percentage.

Produced .537 batting average, 35 RBI. Committed just one error at first base.

Three-year starter batted .450 with 25 RBI and 28 runs scored.

Cornerstone of 15-4 squad, batted .397 with team-best 23 RBI, 3 home runs and 3 triples.
